There was a report on the news that the McCain campaign spent $150,000 on Sarah Palin's and her family's wardrobe. This is clearly sexism in so far that this statistic was never reported for any male vice president nominee. Furthermore, it tells the viewer nothing in terms of what the McCain-Palin administration will do in the event that they are elected. I am as liberal as one can be, but ideology has no place when it comes to the media capitalizing on facts that are unfair.

I do not believe it is okay to spend 150,00 on Palin wardrobe or her families. It shows they have lack of sense. The money should have been used to better his chances of winning not on the way she looks. It does not tell us how things will be changed or different if they win the election.

First impressions are everything. The FIRST thing we notice about someone is their appearance. I don't think there was anything wrong in that situation. Especially since she said she doesn't even get to keep the clothes. I too, think it had no place in the media.

It doesn't matter whether or not she is a woman. She was still wearing clothes worth more than my house. I don't want a president or vice president that would do that. Im just glad that nobody told us how much Obama's clothes cost. Then you would be saying that it's racism.

You are absolutely right Damien. I don't want a person that is fixated on how he/she looks. Of course first impressions are important, but think about she's a female candidate for V.P. that's a big first impression within itself. Sexism has been the key factor for McCain & Palin every since McCain introduce Palin as his running mate. I don't believe McCain thought his decision thoroughly for choosing Palin, but it has affected him in many ways for winning this election.

I think $150,000.00 on clothing which she isn't even keeping is pretty petty. I find it funny nobody was as interested in where all the millions were coming from for Obama's campaign and how it was spent so elaborately. He really needed those Greek columns at the Democratic Convention.

No one was asking how much Michelle Obama and her daughters were spending on their clothes. Of course they wanted Sara Palin to look presentable and for the big spenders we have in Washington, 150,000 was a drop in the bucket. I'm sure Obama's suits were not from a thrift store.

Where the public has the right to know such facts I agree that it was very sexist for the media to put so much attention and focus on the wardrobe of Sarah Palin. There was no report or discussion of Biden's wardrobe or of any one elses who was running for an government elected position. It would be one thing if the media was showing both parties nominees wardrobe price but, only Sarah Palin and Mcain and Obama's wives were listed. Palin was running for the Vice President of the United States and she should have been treated like one, not like the wife of someone who was.

I think that it's a low blow. That 150,000 is such a small percentage of how much the candidates actually spend campaigning. And if she is about to have the 2nd most important job in America then I don't think 150,000 is excessive.

Personally i think they should have spent more money on the campaign.I mean yes i know they wanted his vp and fam to look nice but ,he needed more advertising more support focus more on trying to spend money to win the election.
