Right Wing Senator Solisits Homosexual Favors?

I just thougth this was rather funny. I'm not really biased to either party, so I get a kick out of each of their failings. This one, along with that preacher out in Colorado that got caught doing something similar (though I think it involved drugs and a 'trans-gender person'...).

There are some good quotes by all involved, but this is my favourite:

"I am not gay, I have never been gay."

Mr. Craig

I found several interesting points in this article. First, Senator Craig was an opponent of gay marriage and a critic of the sexual improprieties of other politicians. (You should not cast stones if you live in a glass house.) This does not speak well of his personal character. Senator Craig stated that he pled guilty to the charge in hopes that it would “go away”. He also stated that he did not wish to fight the charges because it would be an “unfair and unwanted distraction” to the Senate. Also, the White House supported his resignation. Does he mean to tell us that an educated man, who understands the law, would plead guilty to a charge against him, if it simply were not true? Does anything “go away” when you live in the public spotlight? Is it that he could not afford a good lawyer? I doubt it. Sounds like someone who got caught with their pants down, pun intended.

I do not know if I can really believe this story. How can a senator just walk into some random bathroom at an airport and just begin to play "footsie" with a police officer intending to ask for sexual favors. I do realize he pled guilty, but this whole story seems a little fishy.

Playing "footsie" in the bathroom with a guy in a stall? Uh eww... ye most people that plead guilty in order to calm the situation down are like minorities or middle class america (the lower end) I would think.

I agree with Daniel. A senator, in my opinion, doesn't plead guilty to play somthing down, he or she pleas guilty because they're guilty!

This is like the craziest thing i have ever heard, your considered gay in situations like this. I feel that most americans can come up with some of the dumbest things to make stereotypes against people!! This shouldnt even be a mattter that the senator should worry about.

This has nothing to do with stereotypes. It has to do withe clear evidence that police have that this exact activity is what you do when you are requesting gay sex in a public bathroom. Most gay people don't engage in this kind of behavior, but only gay people engage in this kind of behavior.
