Actions speak louder than words.

Presidential candidate John McCain commented this weekend that he is a Baptist though he has been outspoken as a self proclaimed Episcopalian for years. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070916/ap_po/mccain_religion
I say, who cares! He grew up in the Episcopalian church and probably still carries some of those beliefs. Now, he has found a new interest in the Baptist denomination. People attend churches of different denominations all the time. The important thing is that he proclaims to be religious and a follower of God. If we are going to judge, let us judge on his actions alone. As the old saying goes, "Actions speak louder than words."

I agree! I think it was Kerry in the last Presidential race that said his faith would not affect his decisions and leadership in office, or something to that effect. That immediately told me he just had "faith" for the votes he could get by having it. So, I agree with you when you say actions speak louder than words, today it is sometimes hard to believe the words without seeing the actions!

What you guys are saying may be true, but this can also show that he is a confused person. No one wants a confused leader, he says,"I am a Baptist." Yet he he's a Episcopalian and hasn't been baptised as a baptist only a Episcopalian. The media is going to eat this guy alive!

It may also show dishonesty. He's been publicly saying one thing and privately saying something else. It could also be evidence of trying to pander to a specific audience. If he's been hiding the change and then all of a sudden when he's running for president he tells a specific audience that he's one of them...

Good Lord! I never thought of that. . . So it is possible he is saying he's baptist because its the larger denomination?

This phrase is used in many arguments..And i feel that it is so true..MAny people talk and tell people the way that they feel, and show nothing to back them up, and that is when actions speak louder than words come in and if you really think of it this is really true!!
