The Virgina Tech Tragedy
America's worst school shooting in history happened today. There is already controversy on who is to blame. I think that the shooter is to blame. People were not prepared nor should they be. Nontheless, this is a tragedy that will be felt all over the U.S. Claims that the school is to blame for not warning all the 25 thousand students by means of bull horns and sirens.

Looking back, yeah, that seems like a smart thing to do. But during that time we have no real idea what was going on. No one could guess what was going to happen. Now other schools are taking this tragic story and looking at what steps need to be taken. FSU just sent out an email to every student asking for their cell phone number. That way if they need to send out an urgent message they can text it and send it out. No one can predict what a crazy person is going to do. We just have to learn from experience. Hopefully something this extreme will never happen again.
I agree with this post. I believe that there is no way of notifying everyone at 7:45 in the morning that someone has been shot. Personally, one Tuesdays and Thursdays I won't even be awake. Also, some people don't check their emails that early or that regularly. I agree that if a finger has to be pointed, that it should be pointed at the student and not the university or the law enforcement. Even if everyone was notified, how could you have predicted that an hour later there would be someone in a building of classrooms ready to shoot 30 more people?
