Did Bill O'Riely call mexicans "wetbacks"?
Just recently Bill O'Riely was talking about mexican drug smuglers. He was giving his opinion about what he thinks about mexican drug smugglers. He admitted to actually using the word wetback but claims it was not in a racial context. Rosie O'Donald took information from internet blogs and exaggerated Bill O'Riely's statement. She is presenting the idea that Bill O'Riely is a racist. I watched his show tonight and he explained himself pretty good. Its just not approaite to use slang or slander especially if you are being watched on T.V.

I don't care what that man has to say because he is more or less a complete fool. It would not really surprise me if he had said that though because racism is a product of extreme ignorance.
Sam is completely right. My personal opinions aside, I don’t see how calling someone a wetback isn’t racist. Even if he did try to explain himself, what could he say? I don’t understand how this is being over looked. If Don Imus goes down for saying what he said, shouldn’t Bill? The rules should apply to everyone.
I can't believe that this didn't get as much play time as the Imus guy. "Wetbacks" is just as insensitive as the "nappy headed hoes" comment. Imus got fired and ridiculed by a nation and Bill O'Riely's comment seems to get brushed under the rug. Now I am by no means saying that the Don Imus ordeal was any less harmful, but I am just suprised that this comment didn't get brought to the forefront.
Insensitive!? Grow some skin!! And what are these "rules"? Do these rules apply to MTV? I don't listen to Don Imus. He doen't have anything to say that is worth listening to. I have never even heard of him until this "incident". There are a lot of people out there that say nasty things about others. Curse words and the "nigger" word is used by rappers all the time. I bet he got his phrase "nappy headed hoes" from a rap song. Maybe? I hear "nigga" at school coming from blacks all the time and I know all of you do too.
Let's not get caught up in this crap. It IS ignorant. But if it's ok for rappers, then it's ok for lame radio jockeys that noone listens to. (and I'll note, that the rappers get more airtime than Mr. Imus)
Is Don Imus a loser? Yes. But he shouldn't be fired for saying what is said on MTV. He COULD be fired for not being listened to though..haha.
Also, ask yourself if you have EVER said something to offend SOMEONE. You have and you probly did it on purpose. I bet all of you have even said the word, "wetback".
And you know, the wetback called me a 'gringo'.
(that was a joke) haha
oh, have another one. Living in Guam the Chamorros call whites "howley". (It means whitey.)
