Are they serious?

Congress has been said to delay a requirement that passengers coming from Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean show their passports at the Us land or sea ports. If president Bush decides to sign this Bill, these passengers will not have to show their passports until at least June 2009. It will actually be one of the worst moves that a president could make. I don't care if these countries may be allies of the USA. It is never safe! Our best friends can be our worst enemies, right?!

In times of international struggle, a country's best interest should be safety, right? I just don't think that this "passport" idea to be agreed upon because i think that it is too risky.

We all share this planet, and people have the right to go where they want. Contrary to what you've been told, there aren't very many people trying to blow you up. If you're worried about personal safety, take some kung-fu lessons.

Merilis, I went on a cruise not to long ago and I tell you that passport thing is not that big of a deal because they have plenty vices in place to slow you up or detain you. The passport is just one other form of proof.

I have mixed feelings about this, for any British person to go to France via the underground bridge, they have to bring their passport, they carry it like it's their drivers license. I don't see any difference in them doing it, and our abilities to do it. So while it is more convenient not to, if other countries can do something and do it well, shouldn't we take a step back and see how other places do things without difficulties?
