Glitch in tax law
I have learned today that there is a loophole in the tax law that could allow illegal aliens to receive tax rebates if the economic stimulus package passes. What? Yes, taxpayers’ money might very well end up in illegal aliens' pockets. Apparently the IRS does not run a check on social security numbers when they process tax returns. Theoretically, you do not have to prove legal status to submit tax returns! This is very upsetting, and I think it is weakening the trust that the people have for our government. How are we supposed to trust that our government is representing our best interests, when they (Congress) cannot even agree about and fix this flaw in the tax law? Absurd!

I agree. That is scary; i dont like that loop hole one bit. No wonder its so difficult for us to protect our identities. Who ever posted that sould of thought about the american publics protection, by not publishing that information. Congress should fix that immediately. Thats a pull on our resources, willingness to pay taxes (well you have to), and peace of mind.
It's not a loophole, it was a politician. You know you watch my back and I'll watch yours kind of thing.
Do you have a link to a report on this story? It sounds a bit like an urban legend to me.
Are you reffering to me? Mr. Kenneth
No, I was referring to the original post.
Here is a link to a more recent article that refers to the loophole and states that it would be fixed.

Here is a link to an article that was written AFTER the loophole was fixed:
