There's a man who wants to take human ashes and turn them into artwork. He doesn't blend them in with the paint but brushes them onto the canvas. I think this is a pretty cool idea. What are you going to do with the ash remains of family members, put them in an urn and place them on the fireplace mantle? That to me is strange, I never understood why people lug around the remains of their relatives. However in a painting, people can admire it without knowing what it is.

It has always been my dream for my ashes to somehow be made into instruments. I always think it is neat when people come up with creative ways as to how their body will be memorialized. I am certainly in support of his freedom to do this with the consent of the family of the deceased. However, I can't deny that I wouldn't get freaked out walking into this man's gallery, and how does he get it to adhere to the canvas? It seems to me there would be a lot of wasted remains having to be swept off the floor, and I find that a bit in bad faith.
