Senator admits affair

Nevada Senator John Ensign, admitted today to having an affair with a woman on his staff. The woman's husband also worked for Ensign. The woman has not yet been identified, but neither he nor she has worked for Ensign since May 2008. The problem wasn't that he had an affair, it was that he had an affair with someone on his staff. This is unacceptable behavior for a Senator or any other leader in our country. The Senator is a Republican, yet another piece of bad news for the party in shambles.

  1. I agree with you on this. I started laughing halfway through this article because I couldn't get the picture of Clinton and Lewinsky out of my head, as well as the airport bathroom incident with Republican Senator Larry Craig. It's times like these when maybe America should only be looking at a-sexual political candidates. Then maybe we could get to the real issues besides focusing on these people's sex lives.

  2. I don't see why people are so concerned with politicians personal lives. Your sex life should be kept private, it has nothing to do with the critical decisions a person can make. Besides, normal people have affairs all the time.

  3. I agree with Justin on this one. People have affairs all of the time. In fact, it would make more sense that people working together would have sexual relations because they are constantly around each other, offering lots of time for interactions. I think sex has very little to do with the effectiveness of a person's professional work.

  4. Granted the sex life a politician shouldn't be a big deal but when it affects the job place, that's when a problem begins. I believe that's when you should question the ethics of a politician. I personally wouldn't want someone in a leading power position if they let their lack of self control effect their work place.

  5. I agree you can't be a leader and do things like this. You have to set an example of how the United States should be, be a stand up guy. Nobody is going to respect the guy who had an affair with a guys girlfriend who works with you. You have to be able to control yourself or not let anybody find out. And definately don't tell on yourself.
