I loved it. If you are not aware that the vast majority of the media and celebrities in general swing pretty far to the left you are living in a dream world. I understand that and as someone whose ideologies swing to the right I can still appriciate good humor. There is a long history at these dinners, since Bill Clinton being made fun of by Don Imus, that there are some harsh things being said. I am a Rush fan and a Sean Hannity fan but they are easy targets! I enjoyed Wanda Sykes and thought she was whitty and hilarious. You?

While it is true that the majority of reporters identify as Democrats and voted for Obama, it doesn't follow from that, that they are pretty far left. Most are moderates, not liberals.
ReplyDeleteAnd while that is reporters, that isn't all of the media. Editors and owners of newspapers are overwhelmingly conservative, as are radio hosts and personnel. You'd also find that a majority of TV anchors and talk show hosts are conservative.
Expanding media to its full definition, you'd find that most actors/actresses, most comedians and most musicians are more liberal.
I also thought wanda was funny, as always. However some of the things she said seemed to be more mean spirited than actual fact or simple humor. Knowing her audience as a good comic would, she gave them what they wanted, but there were parts that even President Obama couldnt be seen laughing at.

Wanda Sykes is one of those people who says whatever she wants out of her mouth. I think comedy is good, however there is a time and a place for everything. It is a thin line when the world is viewing, and it is hard to tell when you have crossed it.
