In this country we have had our ups and downs about the death sentence, but we love to give people the sentencing of "Life without Parole" by doing so we are just using our tax dollars to give these criminals a roof to live under, food to eat, and a decent way of life. When ultimatley we have Full families homeless and starving on our city streets. What can we do?

I think that the American people paying tax dollars to give these criminals a safe place to sleep and food to eat is ridiculous. There are numerous situatins where sometimes a criminal commits a crime and doesnt necessarily deserve to die. Sometimes they actually deserve to sit in a 2x4 cell doing nothing all day and whither away miserably.

ReplyDeleteThese people that have this kind of sentence and are pretty much forced to live in a black hole for the rest of their lifes. We know that a portion of our taxes goes to this and it is absoultly stupid for us to pay for their missrable life, when most of the time they want to be killed any way.

An interesting note to think about when considering the waste of tax dollars on life sentences is that it costs nearly five million dollars to sentence someone to death. However, it costs around forty thousand dollars a year to maintain an inmate. If you do the math it is cheaper to send them to prison for life. The problem lies in the court system.

Who gives people the right to decide when it is time to kill someone. Now with saying that i understand that some of these criminals killed someone but does two wrongs make a right? So giving them life is the right call as far as our tax dollars paying for it well it has to be paid somehow.
I think the jail system in the US is terrible. It costs about 52 dollars a day to house an inmate. I believe in the theory an eye for an eye. Sounds harsh but look at what the person did to get there. People serving life without parole most of the time commit murder. So why keep them alive? Although thats extremely blunt, arent they just a waste of life and money. What can they contribute to better man kind ?

There is a man. Let's call him Bob. Bob kills another man. Let's call that other man Jim. Jim recently brutally raped Bob's youngest daughter. Let's call her Lisa. How do we punish Bob? Obviously we should give him the death penalty for killing Jim. But wait... don't we all believe on an eye for an eye? All Bob did was punish Jim accordingly for the rape of Lisa. Death penalty? Life without parole? Seems a little hurried to just categorize muder so easily.
