Today's Depression

If you have turned on the television you have heard the rising stories of the debt America as been accumulating. It seems like America is on the verge of another Great Depression. Americans are losing jobs, students can't afford their tuition, crime rates are increasing, and prices for everyday items are rising. We vote to put these politicians in office and we hope they are doing the best for our country but it seems like all we get in return is debt and war. If no other country can buy our debt we can expect interest rates, loans on homes, cars, and credit cards to increase. So, if you have been blessed with a job, car, and home then try your hardest to keep it because who knows when it could be taken away.

I agree, we are headed for another depression the way things are going. In the past I found myself complaining about my job pretty regular. Once I became more aware of what was going on with our country, things changed. Everytime I think of complaining about my job I find myself thanking God for blessing me with it. There are so many people that are losing or have lost everything. Who am I to complain? I have a job, a new home, and a well running automobile. I thank God for that everynight and ask for his blessing to keep it all.

You are so right. As a homeowner, it is more difficult today to make my monthly mortgage payments than it was two years ago. The payments are the same, but my husband's self-employed income is not due to a decrease in customer purchasing. I too, hope that our government officials address our economy issues quickly and head-on so we can avoid another Great Depression, if that is even possible at this point.

It is not surprising that myself, among many other people, have felt the declination of the American economy. It is hard to find work, pay bills, and keep what we already have. There is no answer on how much lower our economy will fall and how bad the effects will actually be. All I know is that everyone is hurting and the only thing to fix this situation is time and a lot of reformation.
