I do not believe in the unity of two people of the same sex, I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. I think that being a homosexual is a choice of a lifestyle, now I'm not saying that i think that homosexuals choose to be attracted to the same sex. I think that if someone should live the lifestyle there should be sacrifices that need to be made. I'm not saying that two people should not be together, I am simply saying that i believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman and that it should stay that way.

I am strongly against same sex marriages and yes I do believe it is wrong in everyway. I believe that if God wanted us to be with the same sex he would have created Adam and Steve instead of Adam and Eve. I always hear gay males or leisbans say, "oh i can't help it is in my genes," and it drives me nuts. Well I think that is a bunch of crap because being homosexual is a choice and they choose to be that way and things that are genetically inheirted are not of choice.

I think we must recognize how being "married" is beneficial to people, in order to determine if it's fair to prevent certain people from participating in it. The peace of mind and security that a public declaration of commitment creates is something that we should all be allowed to have, why not?
ReplyDeleteWhere I will agree with the 2 of you is that calling it a marriage does seem inappropriate. Most definitions of the word include "man and woman", but not all. However, we're granted freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. The word "marriage" in American culture is between man and woman, and should be recognized as such. But a refusal to recognize a union or public commitment using a word other then "marriage" would clearly be discriminatory.
