Recently there has been a lot of personal attacks by Clinton on Obama and vice-versa. Personally I wish they would stick to the issues and leave each others personal business out of it if it isn't relevant to the situation at hand. I don't think they should be allowed to attack their candidates personally. Does anybody else think that there should be some kind of restriction on personal attacks against opponents in political races?

I agree with you. I don't think candidates should be attacking eachother. All I want to hear about is what they are going to do if they become President.

I agree as well. Hearing them bicker back and forth is extremlly tirering. Lets get to the point of the issues.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. In my own opinion, this presidential race is just a game to these candidates. I believe when attacking the opponent(s), your just trying to show the audience that he's worst then me, I'm better vote for me etc. What you really need to concentrate on is the issues. Even though the opposing team strikes at you, stick to the issues, that's what the people want to hear (my opinion).
ReplyDeleteI think canidates do try to bring one another down but that is the way to win but sometimes it gets on my nerves cause they forget about the real reason they are here.
ReplyDeleteI think that candidates should only be able to talk about the issues. The downside to this is you can't see what kind of people they are when they can only tell you what you want to hear.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it has occurred to me several times that they might be doing it as a strategy for air time. I realized that I have heard almost nothing about John McKain, but I can always remember Hilary Clinton or Barack Obama when I think about this election. Not because they talk about the issues but because they are always in the news taking jabs at one another.
I am glad that presidential candidates reveal each other's weaknesses and faults. This is how Americans are able to see what a candidate's character is really all about. Americans can also see how the candidates react to the negative attention. S Sadler

ReplyDeleteI see your point but all of the personal attacks persaude people to vote mainly on what their opinion of the candidates are personally. Maybe if there were less personal attacking and more on the issues people would be more inclined to vote based on the issues.
