Why can't we just get over ourselves already. Pretty much everybody in this entire country besides the Native American Indians were immigrants here. And even over on the west coast and Texas, that land was Spain and Mexico and even Russian settlements long before we fought a bloody war over it largely led by a blind faith Manifest Destiny. It is pretty hypocritical not to give them a path to citizenship, they are our neighbors, not something to be feared. They aren't taking any job you would want to do anyway, and we caused their immigration ourselves by not regulating businesses that paid them under the table for the past 20 years.

I agree with your statement. We should allow everyone to come to this country with the oppurtunity to obtain legal citizenship. Those who refuse should be sent back to there countries.I have meant many hard working immagrants. They come to are country to provide a better life for their families. It is not like the Mexicans are comming over with the intent to take over are country.

ReplyDeleteLets see here how many diffrent reasons can we give you, I would say a big one is Population control. Should we just open our doors to anyone and everyone? We are a free country and we have alot of great things i understand why everyone would wantt to live here but you just cant do that. Talking about jobs we dont want anyways, someone did those jobs before them and someone can do those jobs without them. Look where we are now in the economy we have no jobs to offer anyone all we are doing is firing people. Im not saying dont let anyone stay here but we need to be in control

Thats a good call, I never thought of immigration that way. They are actually comingover here to help us by doing work prissy Americans are afraid of. Isn't that why English isn't the offical language of the United States, because we are a nation of all different kindsof people. Why is the mexican culture any different?

This you are wrong on blogger. We are the United States of America so are offical language will always be English. What's gonna happend if we just start letting everyone in from other countries is, we wont have any money because must of the immigrants coming in need welfare. If you want to come here legally go for.Work hard make money then try and move over here and become a citizen. The congress should stand up and support any laws allowing immigrants coming in illegally.

The main idea of this post is a little blurry for some people. The original post is in support of giving others "a path to citizenship" which would fall under legal immigrants. I myself completely disagree with illegal immigration because of the large amount of unemployed and homeless residents that are native to our country. Yes, many Americans do not want to do the jobs that many immigrants take advantage of, but the initiative should be taken to ensure every willing American citizen is employed before resorting to illegal immigrants. On the other hand I see nothing wrong with reforming immigration laws allowing for a smoother process for those who are eligible.

ReplyDeleteWhy would an immigrant illegally enter a country when there is a legal path he can take. Of course there are acceptions, but in general the only conclusion we can take is that the illegal path is better for him. As of right now it takes several years after you apply to get a green card. Years. Not months. When your family is starving you cant wait that long for you to be given permission to enter legally. You take the initiative and enter the country illegaly, working and sending money back home. What is needed is a general restructuring of the immigration beauracracy, streamlining efforts to get appropriate documentation for immigrants.
ReplyDeleteThis poem is inscribed on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty
"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

It is too late now to try to attempt to do anything we already make them go to school when they are here now we are about to pay them financial aid with no social security numbers well of course unless they are stolen, but you get my point what can we do?
